Japan beat Southwest 6-1 Tuesday behind both the bat and the arm of Ryota Endo.
Japan's Endo was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Japan got the win thanks in large part to Endo's dominant, three-strikeout performance. Endo allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks over five innings.

Britton Moore ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as Japan scored two runs on a two-run single by Jo Adachi.
Southwest's lone run of the ballgame came in the second inning on an RBI single by Rilan Quinones.
Japan built upon its lead with two runs in the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when Endo doubled, scoring Yujiro Moriya. That was followed up by Tatsuya Suzuki's single, plating Endo.
