The top of the first saw Asia-Pacific take an early lead, 1-0. Jungtaek Ru singled to ignite Asia-Pacific's offense. A few plays later, Kwon stole home.
Latin America quickly matched Asia-Pacific's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the first. Latin America scored on a wild pitch.
Asia-Pacific didn't relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the second inning when it scored on two two-run home runs and an RBI single by Junhyeok Lee.
After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, Latin America faced just a 7-2 deficit. An RBI single by Bethancourth triggered Latin America's comeback. Finally, Choi induced an inning-ending strike out from Tomas Sarmiento.
