Asia-Pacific Region Wins International Championship

 
 

Three home runs powered Asia-Pacific's offense on Saturday at Lamade Stadium. The blasts carried Asia-Pacific to a 7-2 victory in six innings over Latin America.

Kwon racked up two RBIs on one hit for Asia-Pacific. He homered in the second inning.

Youbin Choi struck out 14, paving the way for a Asia-Pacific win. Choi allowed no earned runs, six hits and no walks over six innings.

RESULTS: Little League Baseball® World Series

Despite the loss, Latin America's Edwar Bethancourth dominated Asia-Pacific's batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Joaquin Tejada couldn't get it done on the rubber for Latin America, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

The top of the first saw Asia-Pacific take an early lead, 1-0. Jungtaek Ru singled to ignite Asia-Pacific's offense. A few plays later, Kwon stole home.

Latin America quickly matched Asia-Pacific's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the first. Latin America scored on a wild pitch.

Asia-Pacific didn't relinquish the lead after scoring five runs in the second inning when it scored on two two-run home runs and an RBI single by Junhyeok Lee.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, Latin America faced just a 7-2 deficit. An RBI single by Bethancourth triggered Latin America's comeback. Finally, Choi induced an inning-ending strike out from Tomas Sarmiento.
