Sixth-inning rally sparks win for West, 8-1
West beat Mid-Atlantic 8-1 in six innings on Wednesday at Lamade after a five-run explosion in the sixth inning.
West scored in the sixth on a passed ball, an RBI double by Zach Hare, an RBI single by Austin Kryszczuk, and a two-run home run by Brennan Holligan.
Hare paced West at the plate. Hare went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs.
Kryszczuk looked sharp on the rubber. Kryszczuk held Mid-Atlantic hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.
Mo'ne Davis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision and was charged with the loss. She lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
